Welcome to the new site and the new blog.
I’ll be talking about all things for entrepreneurs and small businesses, including my experiences with business growth strategies, marketing techniques, networking, what’s worked for me and what hasn’t.
I think all of us have a little bit of entrepreneur in us – that maverick who wants to go in their own direction, run the ship, make millions of dollars and change the world.
There’s no denying that some people have done that. But the reality is that there are a lot of entrepreneurs and small businesses with great ideas and plans that never get off the ground or worse, fail completely.
I don’t endorse or work for Fundera, but this is a great article on small business statistics. https://www.fundera.com/blog/small-business-statistics
There isn’t a right and wrong in running your own business, but there are some truisms that apply to every business and a way of finding the right path for success.
It took me a long time and I made a lot of mistakes, but I finally feel like my business is on the path that I want it to be – success #1.
Finding your true path as entrepreneurs takes time and planning –
Reading everything you can on every subject you are pursuing (and I mean everything)
Make lists and then revise them as you need to
Listen to the pros (there’s a reason why they are pros) and then become your own pro
Learn from your failures and incorpore failure into your winning strategy
Some of my favorite bloggers advice is to find one thing to write about and focus on that – define your key reader and direct all your attention to them. That isn’t the right path for me or my business. I counsel small businesses and individuals on all things information technology and business. That’s never going to be a single reader type. In other words – this blog is for small business owner, an entrepreneur and a technology buff, but it’s also for people who love a good story, who are looking for their own path and everyone who is willing to take a chance and ‘jump’ into an unknown future.
Much like Scheherazade, I’m weaving a tale of over 2,000 nights as small business. I have stories of hard work and how to, but I also have stories of mystery, discovery and intrigue. And I’m driven to tell these tales as they represent the success of this business.
The good thing is – you can learn all the things I have discovered and done by reading my blog.
Happy reading, welcome and please contact me – I would love to hear your stories too.
